Shandong Xiehe University (SXU) is located in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong province, which is renowned for its physical beauty and natural underground springs. Geographically, to its south erects Mount Tai, and to its north runs the Yellow river. Thus, SXU is richly endowed by natural and cultural resources and shining with unique charm.
Shandong Xiehe University is a modern and comprehensive university accredited by the Ministry of Education China. It was first established in 1993 by Mr. Sheng Zhenwen and Ms. Wang Guiyun with the aspiration of training health care personnel. After nearly 30 years of hard working, SXU has currently developed into a well-equipped university covering about 100 hectares with floor area of 400,000 m2. The teaching and laboratory facilities are valued at 100 million yuan. The library possesses a collection of books up to 1.6 million volumes with 26 TB electronic books and 3,519 kinds of journals.
SXU has six schools offering 37 undergraduate programs and 34 junior college programs. The overall balanced discipline structure of SXU, which is dominated by engineering and featured by medical science, consists of five study areas including engineering, medicine, management, arts and education.
Qualified Teaching Resources
SXU has an excellent faculty team including leading researchers and teachers. Three teachers have received special government subsidies from the state council, two national expert with remarkable contributions, one was awarded the title of national excellent teacher, three won national teaching award, five won first prize of the provincial teaching achievement award and three were granted science progress award. In recent years, SXU has built four provincial teaching teams and cultivated three provincial outstanding teachers and one advanced group of provincial teaching management. Meanwhile, four teachers won first prize in the provincial young teachers’ teaching competition and two obtained the title of advanced individuals of teaching management at provincial level. Professor Sheng Zhenwen is the head of one national quality course and national resource sharing course. SXU has gained substantial achievements through teaching construction and reform.

XHU has always advocated the idea of extracurricular activities, in which the students are organized for various campus activities during their spare time. Training Centers with Advanced Equipment
SXU has 8 training centers including engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, architecture, computer science, business administration, medical care, preschool education and educational technology centers with 258 labs. Among them, the engineering center is the business training base in Shandong and the medical care training center is also a provincial and national key construction base of vocational education financed by the central government.
Social Responsibilities
SXU always carries forward the tradition of serving the society. From 2005, the university has run a countryside doctor training program. This program has completed more than one hundred sessions, benefiting over 20,000 doctors and 300 thousand residents. Since SXU is always in the forefront, the government has given the name of this program “Xiehe model” in honor of its great achievements. Media such as CCTV, China Youth Daily, Xinhua net and Renmin net have made many relevant reports.

Since the establishment of the university, it has won numerous honors and titles such as the national advanced social organization, Huang Yanpei excellent education award, advanced unit of education in Shandong province – the only private university awarded in Shandong, the national five-star private university, the influential Chinese private university of 2013 and the most competitive model university of employment.

SXU has constantly sticked to offering strong internal and external exchange and cooperation programs. In mainland China, SXU has established cooperation with more than 30 prestigious universities such as Lanzhou University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shandong University, Beijing Normal University, Shandong Normal University, Shandong Jianzhu University, Shandong Traditional Chinese Medicine University and Taishan Medical College. It has also built international cooperation with more than 30 universities from 13 countries including the USA, the UK, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia. Various forms of cooperation have been introduced such as exchange programs, joint cultivation and joint research.
