On June 30, Shandong Xiehe University and Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) officially formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by Zhou Chuan'an, President of Shandong Xiehe University, and Professor Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, marking the beginning of a new international collaboration.
       Located in northeastern Poland, Bialystok University of Technology was established in 1949 and stands as the region's largest technical university. With six faculties and approximately 7,000 students, the institution boasts strong research and teaching capabilities in fields such as automation, electronics and electrical engineering, computer science, and civil engineering. It already maintains an extensive network of international academic partnerships.
      This MOU represents a significant step forward in Shandong Xiehe University's broader strategy to expand its global engagement. The two institutions plan to collaborate across a range of areas, including faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and dual-degree or cooperative education programs. The complementary strengths of Shandong Xiehe—particularly in medicine and engineering—align well with BUT's established expertise in technology and applied sciences, opening up promising opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation.
      The partnership also reflects China's broader educational commitment under the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering deeper cultural and academic ties between China and Poland. Both universities view the agreement as a foundation for long-term cooperation, with concrete action plans to follow in the coming months.
