On the morning of July 23, 2025, Shandong Xiehe University(SXU) successfully held a virtual video meeting with the University of Victoria (UVic) in Canada. Ms. Kyla Jardin, International Recruitment Manager of UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies, attended the meeting alongside representatives from Shandong Xiehe University’s International Office.
Both institutions began by introducing their respective backgrounds and sharing achievements in international exchange, educational development, and research. The core discussions focused on exploring collaborative potential, with in-depth exchanges covering areas such as semester exchanges for students, short-term study programs, faculty visits, and academic collaboration. Through productive dialogue, the parties preliminarily exchanged constructive ideas regarding faculty exchanges, student mobility, and short-term project cooperation.
To accelerate the collaboration process, Shandong Xiehe University extended an invitation to UVic representatives for an early campus visit, aiming to establish a regular offline communication mechanism and drive substantive progress in cooperation. Ms. Kyla Jardin welcomed the invitation and expressed UVic’s firm commitment to deepening the partnership.
Serving as a pivotal connection point, this virtual meeting established a valuable direct communication channel between Shandong Xiehe University and the University of Victoria. The successful meeting will not only effectively stimulate collaborative potential in talent cultivation and academic research but also broaden prospects for further deepening the long-standing educational exchanges between China and Canada, jointly advancing educational development standards.
